Hover a word for its meaning. Glosses draw on Amir Harrak’s translations and the SEDRA 3 Syriac lexicon (Beth Mardutho), used for academic purposes.

(1-5) Lord, forgive the sins of your servant through the prayer of his friends, and have mercy on the disciple of all the Brothers, who does not deserve (6-10) to sit beside their feet every day on account of the sins and iniquities which he performed in their presence. May their prayer in faith be over the sinner and wretched one, who early every day used to discipline himself? (11-15) with hateful things. His name is ‛Īsā, residing? in Bēt-Kudēdā. He wrote this on this Gate Full of Mercy, so that he who comes and steps over (its) threshold may pray for him. (16) Let a prayer be offered for the community, in both worlds.
