The Canadian Centre for Epigraphic Documents was founded to archive, catalogue, and digitize epigraphic materials — placing them online so that scholars everywhere have direct access to these primary documents.

CBC Toronto’s Natalie Kalata profiled the CCED’s solar-powered dehumidifying/temperature controlled archival unit — designed to protect vulnerable paper and palm-leaf manuscripts from humidity damage in tropical climates. Conceived by CCED Project Director Colin S. Clarke, the prototype was built by engineers Michael Cino and Harrison King-McBain.
