(1-5) Let us ask our holy Lord Jesus the Judge to have mercy on our brother Sim‛ān and to bring him into Paradise—verses. O believers beg the Lord of heaven and implore altogether the Giver of life to the dead on the day he comes to judge humankind: Make him rise from death, (joining) the group of the holy ones that is full of grace so that he may take delight in it for ever and ever amen. We beg our Lord Jesus the Forgiver, to disregard your transgressions and all your sins, and to give you comfort in the land of Paradise (6-8) with the holy ones, in Upper Jerusalem the abode of the righteous ones (where) you would sing with the flute xxx xxx xxx the frees ones. This is the grave of the late Sim‛ān son of Mattī son of Bihnām Lakras; he died in the year one thousand eight hundred of Christ.
