(1a) This blessed church was built in a joyful time and it was named after the friend of our Lord, Thomas the Apostle, so that in it the Father of Truth, the Son, (2a) Christ, and the Holy Spirit, One adored and glorious God, (1b) may be worshipped. (2c) Our Father the mafriōnō, who is Bihnām, he who for doing good was full of (3) zeal, (2b) was diligent about its construction, (3) when Ya‛qūb the Second was our Patriarch. The construction took place in the year 1848 after Nativity and in the year 2159 of Philip the Greek.
