Hover a word for its meaning. Glosses draw on Amir Harrak’s translations and the SEDRA 3 Syriac lexicon (Beth Mardutho), used for academic purposes.

(1–5) This wing made of nine cells and the two galleries and what is below them were built from their foundations during the days of Mār Pius XI, Pope of Rome, (6–10) Mār ‛Ammānū’ēl II, Patriarch of Babylon over the Chaldeans, Mār Yawsep Ġanīmā, General Patriarchal Deputy, and Abbot Hannā Hurmizd, Superior General of the monasteries (11–15) of the Chaldeans, through the care of Abbot Mūšē Ēramiā, Superior General of the monastery of Mār Gīwargīs. (This was done) out of the poverty, work and effort of the Brothers, in the year (16–19) 1936 of our Lord. The director of architects, (working) free of charge, was kawaja Ablahad Jum‛a of Mosul, and the mason was ‛Azīz Dāwūd As‛ad.
