(1-5) With the help of God the helper and the supporter of those who fear him. In the year two thousand and fifty of the Greeks this large well was dug, built, and completed through the diligence and great care of our lord Mōr Ēwannīs, who is Karas, the abbot of the monastery of Mār Behnam and holder (6-10) of the shepherding staff of the village of Bēt-Kudēdā—for he paid for these expenses [and objects] from his own monastery xxxx, with the rest of xxxx large hewn and polished stones, I mean burnt stones, wages of workers, builders and diggers and the rest of the many other (11-13) things that fell on the Abbot of the monastery of Mār Behnam, who took care of this well with all of its [needs?]. May God not neg[lect his reward] amen.
