(1-5) Through the decree of God the Living, Trinity, and Single One, whose throne is in heaven, and whose dwelling is the magnificent light: He is the First and the Last and his being has no beginning. (6-10) As he wished, the human nature through his everlasting love (sic). The gorgeous and shy youth, who is Deacon Īšō‛, left this earthly world, departing to the spiritual one. He was oppressively killed by Bedouins, in the night of the Nativity of our Lord. (11-12) They struck him with 21 arrows and three swords in the year 2046 of the Greeks. (Arab.) Amen.
