(1-5) In the name of God the Living, Trinity, and Single One, whose throne is in heaven, and whose dwelling is the magnificent light: He is the First and the Last and his being has no (6-10) beginning. The venerable priest of beautiful name and sweet melody, Priest Aliās left this difficult world, departing to the world of joys in the year 2077 (of the Greeks), (11-13), the 22nd of the month of Ḥzīrōn (June). He who reads this epitaph let him (say: May God) pardon the soul of the priest, amen.
