(1-5) In the name of God the Living, Trinity and Single One, whose throne is in heaven, and whose dwelling is the magnificent light: He is the First and the Last and his being has no beginning. As his everlasting love wished, (6-10) he sent his eternal Son who put on a human body, died and rose up on the third day and will judge the human race on the Last Day. The believer Matai (11-16) son of the late Hadāiā of the family Bēt-Hūtūn left this earthly world, departing to the spiritual one. He died in the month of Ōdōr (March) the 13th day, in the year 2133 of the perfidious Greeks. He who (says: May God) pardon (him), he will be pardoned. May the Mother of God and all the holy ones of our Lord be remembered. Glory to God, amen.
