(1-5) The righteous live for ever and their reward is with the Lord: (Book of) Wisdom chap. 6:16. For the good memory of our God-loving Father, Priest Mūšē son of Šlēmūn of the Zakkō family: very zealous, meek in spirit, (6-10) and sweet in heart, who died saintly in the peace of our Lord, on the 19th of Īlōl (September) in the year 1881 of Christ. His life span was 75 years, and he served the priestly rank assiduously for thirty-two years. (11-13) The whole church in Bēt-Kudēdā was saddened by his departure from her, for she became deprived of his pleasant melodies, touching voice, and virtuous conduct.
