Hover a word for its meaning. Glosses draw on Amir Harrak’s translations and the SEDRA 3 Syriac lexicon (Beth Mardutho), used for academic purposes.

(1) Let the peace of the Most High and the sanctification of the exalted One dwell and settle in this house and in its inhabitants, who have built for him tabernacles here (=earth) for his glory. May they be for him shrines there (=Heaven) for his dwelling.
(2) Eternal Existence and everlasting Lord, place your grace in the church of your worshippers. May it (=church) remain well-founded all days long for the pleasure of your Will and the glory to your Lordship: The month of Tammūz (July), 1861 of Christ.
(3) Frail men and people most humble among all famous ascetics, who renounced their lives in the likeness of the latter’s own disciples, grew diligent and cared in constructing this monastery and church: the master and leader of all of them, the Priest Ēlīša‛, and like him, ‛Ammānū’ēl and Ḥannā—in the opinion of the Fathers, they are full of zeal toward the fear of Hōšā‛—and the blessed Brothers, who continuously laboured and worked hard.
