English Translation

(1) The altar is fire and the Holy of Holies is fire—fire inside fire (and) fire surrounds it. Let the priests beware the fire that is kept, lest they fall inside it and burn by it forever. (2) Erected during the days of Mār Yawsep the Sixth Audō, Patriarch of the Chaldeans, (3) and of our Abbot Ēlīša‛ Superior General over the monasteries: The year 1864 of our Lord.
