Hover a word for its meaning. Glosses draw on Amir Harrak’s translations and the SEDRA 3 Syriac lexicon (Beth Mardutho), used for academic purposes.

(1-5) On the place of the old church that was built after the name of Mārt(y) Mariam, this church was built, much longer and wider than the former one, after the name of our Lady of Rosary. It was during the days of the venerable fathers, Mār Pius XII, Great Pontiff, Pope of Rome, Mār Yawsep VII Ġanīmā, Patriarch of Babylon over the Chaldeans, and Mār Pawlōs Šēkō, shepherd (6-8) and servant of this diocese of ‛Aqrā and Zībār: Second Tišrīn (November) the year 1948. May the Lord reward the benefactors many times as much here on earth and above in Heaven. The writer: Mīkā Pawlōs Qāšā of Alqōš.
