BK.02 The Castle
A ruined castle on the top of the mountain was once a Kurdish fortification, but it collapsed shortly before 1840. Possibly after this date the Christians used one of its rooms as a church, where a damaged Syriac inscription can still be seen; see Fiey 1993, p. 52.
