(1-5) This altar and the sanctuary named after the Apostle, the renowned prophet Mār Yōḥannān—the son of the barren who became the baptizer of Jesus Christ, whom he showed to the crowds with his finger as it were—was built and completed during the days of the esteemed Fathers, leaders of our nation, (6-10) the Catholicos Yawsep Audō our Patriarch, and Mār Yōḥannān, administrator of the church of Selōk, who holds the staff of shepherdship of all of this territory, and thanks to the financial contributions of the blessed congregation of ‛Enkābā—they were moved altogether, (11-15) young and old, through exhortation, and finished it, bringing it to total completion, with great love, in the blessed month, the modest First Kānōn (December) of the year 1855 of Jesus Christ, Judge of the created ones.
