English Translation

(1) [ ] The Holy Spirit sanctified (the plaque) at the hands of his servant Dionnōsiōs, mafriōnō (2) of Tagrīt, the year one thousand four hundred and thirty-five.

Context
Location Detail According to Pognon, Takrit was the location, but where exactly he did not know. It is quite possible that this came from the citadel of Takrit, but it is included here with the other similar plaques for easy reference. Pognon acquired the inscription in 1893 in Mosul from M. Siouffi, French Consul in this city. In 1939 the inscription was the property of the Beirut Museum, bearing the number 1674. Mouterde who published the inscription again with a good photograph was not aware of its provenance and did not even know that Pognon had previously published it. Museum No.: Beirut Museum 1674.
