GB. Tulūl al-Ukaiḍir
“The mounds of al-Ukaiḍir” in the governorate of Kerbala is an archaeological site located between the al-Ukaiḍir castle and Quḍair, slightly to the north of the castle and to the south of Quḍair. A German expedition conducted excavations there in 1973 and 1974, unearthing quite a sizable settlement, with large buildings and houses along with their decors, including stuccos, ceramics, and inscriptions mostly in Arabic but one in Syriac. On the excavations of the site see Finster & Schmidt 19762, p. 56-150.
